I gaze
Inclining my page
To light my words
With now red-tinted city light
And crimson ruby
Of an already set sun on the horizon.
The sky
Vast, impenetrable
Light behind light
Star beyond star
Invisible breath
Of endless planets
Embracing their solar heart
So subtle the evening twilight
With emerald visions
Against the deep depths
Of ultramarine and indigo
Then a lost feather floating
Like the large clumps of cotton snow
Soaring up then down
Swinging back and forth
As the mild winter brought the weeks of fog
Weeks of soft snow
The long nights
That one feared
To make endless
Ones sleep
