The Butterfly: Cassandra Kulay

The butterfly is a symbol of transformation. Overused perhaps, but apt. Wrapping itself in a protective cocoon, the caterpillar, swaddled like an infant, slowly growing and evolving its painted wings, as we grow into full sized human beings. A swarm of butterflies migrating, is beautiful to see, and the metaphor can set us free.

Even angels are said to have to earn their wings. SO we can be said to be an unfinished project, sheltering inside a cocoon of ignorance of how to become the people we were meant to be, until like flowers we bloom. Instinctively we know where to go and become inspiring to behold.

Nature teaches us how to fly the minute we spread our new found wings. Prompting us to reveal the art that makes our humanity distinct. The love butterfly, seeking its tribe, is captivating, but the effect is multiplied when they join together in the sky. A mural that transcends their humble beginnings and moves us to reflect on change, and the part it plays in our personal evolution.

Time is not just something that passes unnoticed, and we are not static in our development, but ever moving toward a destiny. Personal growth is the wind that stabilizes us, and moves us forward into fulfilling our promise. The butterfly is beauty and freedom as expressed through a living thing.
