Remember me, I knew you
lifetimes ago, traced your heartbeat
through skin, muscle and bone,
when your eyes danced I knew
complete happiness, when you
wanted to wander and explore,
I let you go. Remember me, like
a haunting strain of music, a lyric
that speaks to your soul, your
hand reaches out when I am about
to fall, looking in your eyes I feel
understood and I feel the way I
always wished I would when I was
alone. Remember me, I’m sure
I once held your hand in another
place and time, you inspire me to
visions of paradise. Even when
we are not flesh and blood but
beings of light, I will know you,
we will fit together like words
that rhyme, throughout time we
have been together and I know
that we always will be, everything
that I share with you is somehow
true, you are the light that floods
the stage upon which we play,
when you are here I only want
you to stay but even when we
are not together, I somehow enjoy
keeping you in mind, knowing that
what is missing, I soon will find.
Remember me, and I will remember
you, you don’t have to be perfect,
just be true to yourself and a halo
of good intentions will surround you,
that’s all you need, good intentions
lead to greater deeds, the path to
hell is not for you, just be who you
are, you will be fine and somehow
choose to throw your lot in with mine.
we will survive through togetherness,
sometimes to say the least is to say
it best, just hold me and show me
you know me, that’s all I ask.
Remember me to the very last.
