Lost and Found By C. Fay Shlanda

Unaware of losses suffered
Oblivious to what was found
Memories sliced into pieces
Redirections all around

Truth’s made to be disposable
Lies used to maintain the norm
Self-respect is hidden away
Loathing has a space to form

Picking out the habits to deal
The shedding of hopes and dreams
Looking to find a new belief
While playing reality’s scenes

When illusions become too large
They begin to stretch and crack
Unveiling a brighter vision
Lighting sanity’s way back

Excuses of the past are lost
And reasons to live abound
By believing in life renewed
The path to healing is found
