Black Cat: Robert St. Germain

Black cat how they fear you,
see how they cower
the superstitious fools.
Your fur as pretty as
The evening sky.
I listen as you purr
from deep inside.
Your eyes look at mine
with intelligent thought.
And you seem content
More often than not.
You stand on a fence
like it is Halloween.
Still you have no shade
of anything mean.
You go about your feline life
and you seem to be
at one with the night.
Oh black cat, how graceful you are.
Your eyes in the darkness
Are like two shining stars.
