A Cold Day: Robert St.Germain

Here in Winnipeg, I walk down the street.
And I feel the snow crunching under my feet
I see my own breath in front of my eyes.
And the air is too chilly for clouds to form in the sky.
I move fast to outrun the winter hounds.
And the extra layer of clothing adds two or three pounds.
People don’t say much as they walk on by.
This weather makes some want to laugh, and others to cry.
The pictures on the bus have something or other to say
like it or not, for now, winter is here to stay.
