Patience: Cassandra Kulay

Patience is a fruit of the spirit, which is difficult to grasp. As time we come closer to what we ask, or come to make peace with, or even understand, hopes withheld or dreams dashed. The end of patience is to accept the burden of waiting for results in their own good time, and appreciate our vantage point in their present. Where we know not the resolution of our decisions. We can look back on our past and the steps we have taken to get where we are and look forward to milestones ahead. But rushing them will cause nothing but anxiety and aimlessness. For if we take no satisfaction in their present process of getting there, we sacrifice the greater part of life, travelling through both uncertainty and strife. To rest in the  moment and simply exist. Patience is a beautiful aspect of character. We always feel more relaxed around someone who is patient. Who takes the time to get to know us, and sympathizes with our hesitance. Who remains calm in the face of dissonance. Meditation is the development of patience. Learning to live with our thoughts without getting attached to them. To let go of the outcome and embrace the uncluttered space where energy flows like water. Pulling us forward without fear or doubt. The past an undertow flowing backwards that cannot capture our spirit. For patience helps balance the forces that sustain us.
