Nighttime Surprise: Marjolaine Brodeur

No pleasanter could have been given me in the middle of the night than the appearance of three stars visible in the night sky; one in the South and two in the East. After months of only seeing the moon, to see this spectacle brought a measure of joy to my heart. Though modernity had in increments brought about so many astral absences through its proliferation of nightlights, neon signs, an overflow of satellites clogging up my urban night sky. Yet, here were three orbs that had managed to pierce through this dense fog of humanity.

Astronomers, no doubt, may say that these were not stars, but, remnants from the alignment of the five planets not too long ago, but access had been denied me through the presence of clouds and rainfall that had been my nightly bread of late. No matter, orbs are orbs however they are formed and fill one with awe as they have done to humanity since the time humans first came to be. We still dream dreams and take them as signs for what befalls us later on.

I beseech you orbs, present your selves to me again, so, I may sate myself in your twinkling lights; and, hold you in my heart that I may dream dreams, as well.
