a single tear falls
and with it
hope grows
for within the drop
exists
the knowledge that this isn’t the ways things “should” be
the emotions felt and conflict fought within
are for the hope of a new day
are for the hope of the ability to stop crying
stop grieving
stop hating that which is inside
to stop hating that which oneself cannot understand
the hope of friendship
the hope of rest from the humongous burden of walking alone
of hope for the humongous rest from a restless mind that taunts
that tightly is held taunt between longing for and hating the joy of letting go
of hoping that this does not make oneself bad, one’s whole self unredeemable
a few minutes later
walking the stairwell
gigantic sunlight
warms hands and back
enters eyes
enters heart
infiltrates deep
long given up on
crevices of soul
along the sidewalk
more tears come
this time of
unimaginable hope
of a dream forming
that maybe the way past the
grief, the stoppage
is to rather go through
not pushing ones realness away
not staying away until people can’t tell I’ve been crying
entering church
sunlight shines through
hesitantly
showing swollen face to person’s once claimed as friends
a communal small group
hope is realized
shackles burst
heart grown
power in the moment of obedience
the moment of faith
in a power greater than oneself
to give
one words
to describe the ungraspable
and understanding
reflected back
from
God’s kindness with skin on
shatters preconceptions
solidifies a
heart built on hope
into firm foundations
of reality
and
love
sunburst of love
come overflow
this place
make
seen
Your Power
overflow our hearts
as we seek
Yours
and joyfully
know
that we know not
the depths
of Your love
and the deep
crevices
filled with Your
hope
Your God-inspired
and felled
passion
your garden of hope arising
into a hearts song
that cannot be quenched or turned into
drought
cuz
there will always be
a little
drop
waiting
to
sprought
of
HOPE
