Hope in the Dark: Marsha Gladstone

02/15/2018 ~ kaleidoscopeonline

I will stay strong, when I feel weak
I will stay bright, when things seem bleak.
Don’t give up, fight till I die
Keep my mind open, I will not lie.
When things seem dark, light I will seek.
I will enjoy the times when I’m at my peak.
Take a moment to look at the sky
I’ll never fail unless I fail to try.

About Marsha Gladstone

Marsha Gladstone is 36 years old and has been diagnosed with Mental Health issues since she was 18. Life has been a real struggle and battle for her being in and out of psych wards like a revolving door and challenges with addictions issues. Even with all of her setbacks she is still alive and fighting to survive and be happy in life. This poem was written during a hospitalization and tells how even in the darkest of times you can still have a glimmer of hope.
